The unique Grade II listed Leas Pavilion (Club) on Folkestone’s iconic Leas promenade has fallen into disrepair. The Friends of the Leas Pavilion are promoting a campaign to restore the building as a heritage asset but, while these plans are under development, a permanent community archive was launched in April 2019 to preserve and share the history of the Pavilion and Club and make it available to all.
Miss Doris Pedelty, the “solo pianist and accompanist” on this poster, was my great- aunt.
I knew her when I was a child, she passed away around the year 1960.
I was in this production, the last pantomime to perform at the Leas Pavilion I think. It was the best pantomime I ever did, as the building had an amazing atmosphere and ambience about it. Does anyone have any photos of the pantomime ?
